Candida Diet Plan

What I've been doing personally for my Candida .....

The Candida Diet Plan

Reversing candida

  1. Detox
The first aim of your Candida cleanse is to cleanse the system of the toxic byproducts of Candida. Fasting, colon cleansingwheatgrass, fresh vegetable juices, plenty of water, detox herbs, exercise, and anything else that extracts toxins.

  2. Reduce the yeast population in your system
Candida treatment must bring yeast cells back into balance. Use anti-microbial herbs and phytochemicals in formulas from your natural or health food store that include a combination of these powerful herbs, 15 days on then 5 days off, repeating as long as needed. The 5 day break discourages mutating yeast from multiplying and developing immunity to the herbs.

  3. Inoculate yourself with probiotics
Probiotic bacteria favorably alter the intestinal microflora balance, inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria, promote good digestion, boost immune function, and increase resistance to infection. People with flourishing intestinal colonies of beneficial bacteria are better equipped to fight the growth of disease-causing bacteria. Lactobacilli and bifidobacteria, along with acidophilus (found in yogurt), maintain a healthy balance of intestinal flora by producing organic compounds (lactic acid, hydrogen peroxide, and acetic acid) that increase the acidity of the intestine and inhibit the reproduction of many harmful bacteria. Probiotic bacteria also produce substances called bacteriocins, which act as natural antibiotics to kill undesirable microorganisms.

  4. Improve your diet
A diet to eliminate Candida is a long-term lifestyle – and in fact diet is your best defence against candida. Yeast loves sugar and simple carbohydrates; if you keep feeding yeast cells they will multiply, and even the best anti-microbial herbs won’t keep them in check. Eat a disciplined diet for at least 3 months, then When your symptoms disappear, you can expand your diet. But don’t revert to old habits, or the candida symptoms will quickly return.

Keeping Candida in Check

Foods to Avoid
Aged cheeses, alcohol, chocolate, dried fruits, fresh fruits, fermented foods, mushrooms, vinegar, glutenous foods (wheat, rye, oats, barley), all sugars, honeys and syrups (that includes any ‘ose’, like lactose, sucrose etc), and foods that contain yeast or mold (breads, muffins, cakes, baked goods, cheese, dried fruits, melons, peanuts – although nutritional and brewer’s yeasts are not harmful, as they do not colonize in the intestines).
Foods to Eat
Vegetables (including plenty of raw garlic), protein foods (beef, chicken, eggs, fish), live yogurt cultures (both dairy and non-dairy,) FOS*, whey, acidophilus, green algae (such as spirulina and chlorella), nuts, seeds and oils, and non-glutenous grains (like millet, rice, rice bran and oat bran).

Supplements
Checkout combination products containing these herbs & supplements for natural defense against candida overgrowth:

First things first, you need a good multi-vitamin. Candida prey's on weak immune systems, and although you can fill your plate with an abundance of vitamins and minerals it doesn't hurt to make sure your fill in the gaps here and there. My multi-vitamin of chose is the new product by Garden of Life called Raw Vitamin Code.
"Garden of Life" was started by a man named Jordan Rubin, who also has quite an interesting story himself and how he got into the health field. I read his book a while back called "The Makers Diet,"...great book. I suggest you give it a read.

Back to the multi-vitamin : here's the link below for info. on a raw liquid multi-vitamin source. This product is newer by the way, he also has many other raw multi-vitamin tablets on the market that can be found at many mainstream health food stores.

If your also looking for a non-raw alternative the "Alive" vitamin company can be a great alternative and alil more budget friendly. They have a liquid multi as well as tablets. I prefer liquid only because it's easier for your body to absorb the nutrients faster.

The second thing I've been creating in my kitchen is fresh batch's of Kefir. This is a whole new topic in itself. I've been particularly interested in water kefir, not most of the milk based ones you can find at the store. They also have coconut milk kefir which is quite yummy. That's just me though, their all equal when it comes in getting those good bacteria in your belly. I will post soon about more detailed info. on Kefir.

Another option that I just started to try is brewing Pau D' Arco Tea.

Pau d'Arco is a natural herb retrieved from the inner bark of the Tabebuia Avellanedae or Tabebuia Impetiginosa, known as taheebo. The taheebo tree is grown predominantly in Central and South America, but may also be cultivated in southern Florida. Pau d'Arco, also known as ipe roxo or sometimes lapacho (its derivative), has been used for centuries by the Indio tribes of South America, as well as the ancient Incas and Aztecs.

Pau d'Arco tea or tincture concoctions have had beneficial effects for cancer victims, anywhere from alleviation of chemotherapy symptoms to complete remission of tumors. An article published by Dr. Daniel B. Mowrey on Pau d'Arco stated that "who Lapacho has produced clinical anti-cancer effects without side effects." This taheebo tea has been helpful to many.

Candida Albicans, a fungus which causes yeast infections, has also been treated by the Pau d'Arco herb. Clinical studies also showed strong in vitroactivity against various other bacteria, fungi and yeast, including:AspergillusStaphylococcus aureusStreptococcusHelicobacter pylori(common cause of stomach ulcers), Bucella, tuberculosis, pneumonia, and dysentery.

viruses such as: herpes I and II, influenza, polio virus and vesicular stomatitis virus.

Pau d'Arco is also confirmed as being an antiparisitic against various parasites, including: malaria, schistosoma, and trypanosoma. Additionally, the herb has even demonstrated usefulness as an anti-inflammatory.

Pau d'Arco bark has active principles, mainly lapachol, quercetin and other flavonoids. Once the Pau d'Arco inner bark is dried and shredded it can be made into a tea which has a slight bitter or sour taste, and is brownish-colored. This herbal tea is used by many during the cold and flu season, and is a remedy for smoker's cough.

Another medicinal use of Pau d'Arco is as an expectorant: to promote "coughing up" by the lungs in order to free deeply embedded mucus and contaminates.

Aside from continental South America, Tabebuia also ranges to the islands of Hispanola (the Dominican Republic and Haiti) and Cuba, as well as north into Mexico. Tabebuia is a neotropical genus with approximately 1000 species, hailing from the tribe Tecomeae of the family Bignoniaceae.

You can also try a strong Acidophilus formula, this is the strongest one I've seen on the market.
This is very similar to any Probiotic formula and or Kefir, all three of them provide your body with health bacteria. Basically Candida is an overgrowth of bad bacteria and in order to fight it you have to combat it with good bacteria. It's like a war in your belly...hahaha.

Of coarse these are only additional things that can be done to help your Candida situation. The food you put into your mouth really should be your main priority, and remember....sugar is the enemy!
